How to install Installous cracked apps on Iphone 3.0 OS
There are minor changes to installous on iphone 3.0. Follow the steps below as usual to get the installous up and running from cydia. You need a jailbreaked iphone and cydia of course. If you do not know what are they well google is your friend.
- Open Cydia, tap on "Manage" at the bottom
- Tap on "Sources"
- Tap on "Edit" on top right then tap on "Add" on top left
- Type in http://cydia.hackulo.us Cydia will warn you about copyright information just tap ok
- hackuolo.us repository is very crowded and they lack donations so it is down very ofthen. You may try the new brotherhood project repository http://cydia.install0us.com/. That is a ZERO not an O

- Wait for repo to be added and updated.
- From search or hackulo.us repo directory
- Install Appsync for OS 3.0 do not install miPatch on os 3.0! If you do not download then sync cracked apps from PC/MAC/iTunes you may skip this step.
- Install Installous
- Restart your phone
- Launch installous and have free fun.
Thats it, simple tap steps.
Appsync will allow you to sync the hacked apps through itunes, otherwise it will give out invalid application signature error.
For downloading from PC and syncing your apps with iTunes use www.appulo.us
Appulous is a free iTunes App Store in short created by people by sharing their applications from all over the world.
Troubleshooting
If you experience any problems during the installation or application installation steps, you may try this checklist.
- Perform update on all cydia related packages. It will ask you to update first, do not skip it and update.
- Do not forget to restart your phone
- Install a free application from app store like "facebook" before installing applications from installous
- First select download, wait for it to finish (100% complete) then tap "Downloads" section and install. If you do not see your app in that directory, then it is not complete yet. Double tapping on download may corrupt your downloaded file.
- Make sure the file you are downloading works fine. Sometimes cracked apps may fail, so try another application or package to make sure everything works fine before searching for help.
- If you encounter problems during application installation like package or executable not found etc make sure the following packages exists in your cydia, if not install them or re-install them to make sure everything is solid and packages are not corrupt. Installouse is dependent on these sub package libraries.

- Curl (not sure if it was listed on packages but installous dependent)

hey, I keep getting this strange error – and it’s because I didn’t follow your instructions. I installed Installous before AppSync, which they updated 2x’s since I downloaded it yesterday.
Here’s the error I get: /var/cache/apt/archives/ifoneguide.nl_0-9_iphoneos-arm.deb
trying to overwrite ‘/Applications/Cydia.app/Sources/cydia.ifoneguide.nl.png’, which is also in package cydia
and before that: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
any ideas?

I can see possible reasons.
Currently hackulo.us is down due to server failure and extreme overload. That may be the reason for those errors. You may want to try again later when they are fully up and running.
AppSync only enables the iTunes sync, if you do not download from pc then sync to your phone (which I never do, I directly download and install from installous ) you are fine without it.
I m not an mac OS and iphone expert but your error string is connected with cydia, not with installous. Maybe updating essential cydia updates can resolve it?

hey i got my phone upgrade to 3.0.1 and everything works good until i add the hackulo or the installous one of them but when I install it my phone is crash do you know what the problem could be is it my phone the upgrade firmware or i can’t use it no more help please…..

There is no structural difference between 3.0 and 3.0.1 except the SMS fix. Instead of updating 3.0.1, make a clean restore of 3.01 (deleting everything) then try

If download goes to 100% you do not click on download again. You go to downloads section then select the file you downloaded and tap on it to install. You tried to overwrite the package and installous tried to install an empty package.

Does this happen with only one application you are trying or with all of them? If it is with one then it means package maybe broken if with all of them maybe one of your installous sub libraries (zlib, pckg etc) can be corrupt. Uninstall “installous” via cydia and restart your phone then make a clean installation.
You can try adding apps via iTunes also so you can find really where the problem is.

Sorry to hear man, but what you gonna do this is an hack on an a crappy apple product. My phone acts funny even with production software most of the times.

Now I’m restoring with the original software. Then I use Quickpwn and an old FW to enter DFU mode and restore with an custom FW 3.0. Works fine, but now I’m busy for the next 5 hours on my free lazy sunday

Wenn I start up, I see the apple, then its black for 30 sec and it reboots and so on.
But a jailbroken 3.0 is now again on my phone.. thanks anyway

Perhaps I misunderstand one thing. First I install Installd from Cydia, after a reboot I install Appsync.
Because Installd works fine, do I need to install Appsync? Or can I only install Appsync (no Installd!!) Because, perhaps thats the problem wenn the both of them are on my iphone?

If you do not use Itunes to sync your “Applications” from your pc or mac etc.. You do not need to install AppSync. You can download and install cracked iphone applications directly from installous.
You can try to use only AppSync also without installing “installous”. Maybe it will work fine but I have my doubts.

Hackulo.us repo is currently lagged and most of the times is down due to server overload. Give it some time or try at relatively free times like 0 AM till 6 AM while most of the people are sleeping.
Try to install some other application/theme/ringtone or something else from other repository via cydia. If you still receive the same error, then you should update your dependent packages for cydia itself.

Any sync process from PC to phone will require AppSync to be installed. Otherwise you will receive signature errors.
The SSH method will work fine and you wont need Appsync at all. Just be careful to uncheck “sync applications” on iTunes when syncing your phone.

Dude I’m getting a Hash sum error. When I install the source itself, it comes out as a question mark [the hackulo.us logo]. Even inside the source, Installous is also a question mark !

If you receive the size mismatch or Hash sum error IN EVERY APPLICATION you try to download via cydia, problem occurs from cydia. If it is only with hackulo us repository then you need to wait and keep trying, because it is busy.
Alternatively you can use Icy instead of Cydia.

Are you sure you checked all the applications to be synced in iTunes before syncing? It is a common error.
Check sync all applications or all of the checkboxes if you are syncing specifically.

Since you did not receive any errors from both ends I believe it is a iTunes sync error. Select one application only (an unsynced one) and click to sync from iTunes and wait for the result. iTunes is not a great application, it gets messed up easily. Restarting the iTunes will help you also.

I am having the same problem as trent. I have all my apps synced with Itunes from the 2.2.1 firmware. After the upgrade, install of cydia, install of appsync, and installous I cannot get any of the apps from my Itunes to install back to the Iphone. Only a few different apps show up. Some that I downloaded from Installous and synced before and some I got from the Itunes store. I also can download from Installous with no problem, install the app, but the icon never shows up. I can verify that the app installed by going through IphoneBrowser and see that it is in the /var/mobile/applications. Not sure why this is. Any suggestions.

Thanks for the help. I redid everything and it still wouldn’t show up. I ended up clearing out all of my cache, history, and cookies from safari and the applications started showing up. Kinda bizarre but it works now without any issues.

Did you add the hackulo.us repo? Installous does not come in cydia by default. If you installed it but not listed in home or cydia package management, try re-installing.

I have cydia and icy downloaded and went to try and download Installous, I got an error. I also was asked if I wanted to upgrade stuff, I got an error “Internal Error, Could not perform immediate configuration (2) on essential”, those were the essential apps it said. You need to perform the essential updates of cydia first, otherwise you will receive those depacking errors. Keep trying to update the cydia itself.
You may try installing via Icy but you can face problems even in with Icy due to missing packages also.

I’m trying to install Installous through Cydia & Icy but I keep getting the error message: “Couldn’t configure pre-depend dpkg for grep, probably a dependcy cycle.”
When I try to install the files you’ve stated I’m getting the same message. That goes for when I try to updated Cydia.

I am glad you worked around your problem and it is working now. But I did not get your question?? If you are talking about cydia updates, no you dont. cydia will notify you whenever it needs an update. Just be sure to say yes when it does.

I got the 3.0 firmware update today and rejailbroke my ipod touch 2g. I synced with my itunes library and none of my cracked apps were synced, do i need to install app sync 3.0 or do i have to reinstall them from installous, which is not possible because of the “unable to find” error, any suggestions

If they are not cracked ipa files you do not need AppSync . AppSync is to sync cracked applications with iphone/ipod succesfully.
Put your ipas in the itunes application directory not somewhere else.
You may need to clear your cache and respring your phone as I told several comments above.

Give the phone some time to boot. If it is still blank logo, try to connect it via iTunes or SSH. If you can not reach the phone (means its not even started its services) you will have to restore-rejailbreak it.

Installous have releases a new version which is installous 2.0.3, I and many people updated succesfully. But sometimes cydia acts weird even in best conditions. You guys can use Icy as an alternative to cydia. I guess that will solve your problems. and Do not jailbreak with cydia + icy. Only select cydia. If you want Icy then install Icy via cydia.

You seem to have problems with the firmware, again you can try Icy also. I would suggest you to use
iTunes method:
only miPatch (in your case of OS 2.x) and sync via iTunes
or installous method:
No miPatch, download install from installous.
One of them should work fine for you.

To fix cydia problems
step 1: if u jailbroke ur iPod with cydia and icy ur fine if u dnt then jailbreak it wit both apps
step 2: now ur gonna rejailbreak wit only installing cydia ( do not checkmark the icy box)

Hope someone can help…I’ve just jailbroken my iphone 3G (OS 3.0). When prompted to perform a complete update for Cydia, I get the following error:
“Couldn’t configure pre-depend dpkg for ncurses, probably a dependency cycle.”
I’ve been able to update the essentials, but still can’t install the remaining components.
I have already restarted using a power-down/up as well as a hard reset, but I still get the same error.
When trying to install Installous, I get the same error.
Can anyone suggest a workaround?

after installing the patch i can install cracked apps fine but when i try to download apps on my iphone the account is a different hotmail account not my one so i cannot download updates etc.

I did all of this stuff, and i can download stuff from installous, but when they’re done, they don’t show up on my homescreen (dock, whatever it’s called idk). i can still sync them with itunes, but i can’t use them on my itouch (i have OS 3 and a 2g ipod touch) can anyone help me?

I have an iPhone 2G running 3.0 and installous 2.0.2. No issues with it.
iPhone #2 is a 3GS with installous 2.0.3. Getting the (apparently) notorious “cannot find executable” whenever a clean install is attempted. Only Dirty installs work. I can’t imagine this is a 3GS issue, but maybe? Are there others running installous on a jailbroken 3GS yet and successfully installing (clean method) cracked .ipa s?
Assuming the issue isn’t hardware, anybody come across this issue? I’ve uninstalled/reinstalled everything, restarted many times — even restored and jailbroke again from scratch in hopes of getting this to work.

Hey
So I just jailbroke my ipod with the newest firmware 3.0
One of the first things i did was download Installous
So i went to download one of my favorite games Fast&Furious
I noticed it wasnt loading as fast as usual
And after it got to about 8 percent an error came up saying
-Download failed! Error – -timed out http://dl.alpha.a…-
I cant see the rest after the -…-
I have tried re-installing everything
i re-jailbroke my iPod 3 times
Does Safari Download Plug-In have anything to do with it??
Next thing im going to try is use Icy
Does that work?^
But Im not sure I want to get help here first

as I understood you only receive timeout error only from fast and furious? then try another mirror to download. It is 100% the host you are downloading is having some problems.
If you are receiving timeout error from all websites, you may have a problem with your wireless also.
Safari download may interfere with installous download also. Unistall it and then try.

This Worked Great Guys just go to the online website download a full game or so… downloadd appsync program off cydia and sync the game u downloaded to iphone or itouch through itunes then after that u can start using the installous on your iphone/itouch ive been suffering for days this finally helped me!

After install Installous, u must install a free software from App Store, run it before install software with Installous.
Remember setting dirty installation method.
It works for me.

Hey! i downloaded app sync and installous.
My problem is that i recently synced it into my itunes, and i lost my cracked apps i have gotten. i reinstalled them and now they are fine.
However whenever i try to sync my phone into the computer to update my music , it completely freezes up itunes and a message window pops up saying “applemobiledevicehelper” center doesnt work anymore. What happened ?! ive already tried redownloading itunes and deleteing the installous and appsync and reinstalled those…
got any ideas? i appreciate all the help i can get. Thanks.

It seems to be installous is crashing, try unistalling and re-installing installous and do not forget to restart your phone between the steps.

I have installuos and it was working very well before the fails on hackulo.us last friday. now after hackulo back and when i open istallous from my home it keeps reloading looooooong time without any response or some times I get 500 internal server error. from my office it’s working very well. any one can help ?? it was working from both home and office but now from office only.

Hi, while I was jailbreaking I choose both cydia and icy to install, so I had problems with cydia. That’s why I uninstall cydia – I thought that I can use icy only, but on appsync info page it is written “install with cydia only”
Do I really have to?
I don’t want to re-jailbreak because then I loose every jailbroken app saves, high scores etc.
P.S. Sorry my English I’m from Czech republic.

You can give it a try. Jailbreaking with both cydia and icy always creates problems.

I have a 3Gs jailbroken and unlocked phone with latest apps. Some softoware I download via Cydia from Exsellize repo will install without errors but when I lanuch this software (ex: Iblacklist) it will open and close immediately. Other Software downloaded from the same repo will generate an error during install which reads: “sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)” and them I am prompted to force remove.
Can anyone help please? I have already added all the recmmended files mentioned at the top of this list.

That list is for installous installation from hackulo.us repository. It is possible that, there is an error in your exsellize repo or distributed files via the repo.

Tried any free apps from appstore? if they fail also means you have a corruption in the system and may require a brand new restore and jailbreak.

Here’s the problem: the original poster didn’t give you correct instructions. I know, because I followed incorrect instructions and bricked my phone the very first time. After you add the cydia.hackulo.us package, install AppSync, then Crackulous, then Installous IN THAT ORDER. If you don’t, you’ll run into any/all of the problems listed in this post. I’ve done this a few times now and had no problems whatsoever.

I got a iPhone 3G and am running Cydia and winterboard like Chris as well, but I made sure to install Appsync right before I installed Installous, and had my iPhone restarted. At first it booted up very slow but then all the programs I was using would shut down right away. I uninstalled Appsync and Installous and restarted again but still have the same problem. Any suggestions how to fix this?

Only difference between 3.0 and 3.0.1 is the SMS patch. Even jailbreaking for 3.0 works for 3.0.1 there AppSync works also.

Help, i have a 3G with 3.0.1 installed. My phone is jailbroken with Cydia on it, i have added the cydia.hackulous.us source, i have attempted to add Installous but every time that i try, nothing shows up on my springboard (the main screen). It is almost like nothing is transfering to my iphone. after the 1st attempt, i backed up my phone on my Mac, and then wiped it and reinstalled my backup, jailbroke it again but it didn’t help again. i have since downloaded a free app from the app store, i have restarted the phone and Installous never shows it’s beautiful face. i have even tried downloading Cycorder (successfully) from cydia.
i don’t know where to go from here….

1 Are you sure you installed all essential cydia updates?
2 Does it give any errors while installing installous?
If no errors and If it doesn’t maybe your cache is messed up
DELETE
/var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.mobile.installation.plistthen respring your phone.
If not, instead of restroing your backup, you should do a clean restore.

I have installous running on 3.0.1 – but the sites been down since I installed the updates, so I wouldn’t say it’s compatible, but it does seems to be working on 3.0.1 without the rebooting issue… for now…. maybe it’s once you install something through it.

As soon as I select the download green button in installous.
Its says : ” Download failed. Could not start saving file.”
Really weird problem.

all you need to do , is to put a permission of 0777 on the downloads folder in /User/library/downloads.
properties –> octal : from 0755 to 0777
do it through ssh , winscp for example (search in you tube)

hey i added hackulo and then proceded to download apsync it downloaded fine then i tried to download crackulous then tried installous dint work a note comes up saying the requested modifications cannot be applied due to required dependencies or conflicts that cannot be automatically found or fixed then i tried to search for unzip,uuid,zip,gawk and grep it dint find any of them but i did manage to download erica utilities,core utilis and darwin cc tools now i read a couple of threads but dont know what to do..so il let you explain

Hello, i have a jailbroken iPhone 3g with Cydia and i installed Appsync 3.0 but when i try to sync my apps (both downloaded from the appstore and installous) it does the backup, starts to sync one random app but stops almost immediately and ends the sync. i tried reinstalling all the 8 components listed above (erica, unzip gawk etc.) always rebooting after each reinstall but no change has happened.. do you have any idea on how to fix that?

Oh some times it will download but it wont be the complete apps… not all links work, some wont download…. u have to find the right one…
Question- i have the ipod touch 2g and updated it to 3.0… i jailbroke it with redsnow 0.8 and 0.7… after i installed cydia, i did the updates and added the source… For some reason winterboard and the app sync 3.0 os, installous, mi patch… nothing from the source will download… it says – disk space used- 0.0…
