How to install Installous cracked apps on Iphone 3.0 OS
There are minor changes to installous on iphone 3.0. Follow the steps below as usual to get the installous up and running from cydia. You need a jailbreaked iphone and cydia of course. If you do not know what are they well google is your friend.
- Open Cydia, tap on "Manage" at the bottom
- Tap on "Sources"
- Tap on "Edit" on top right then tap on "Add" on top left
- Type in http://cydia.hackulo.us Cydia will warn you about copyright information just tap ok
- hackuolo.us repository is very crowded and they lack donations so it is down very ofthen. You may try the new brotherhood project repository http://cydia.install0us.com/. That is a ZERO not an O

- Wait for repo to be added and updated.
- From search or hackulo.us repo directory
- Install Appsync for OS 3.0 do not install miPatch on os 3.0! If you do not download then sync cracked apps from PC/MAC/iTunes you may skip this step.
- Install Installous
- Restart your phone
- Launch installous and have free fun.
Thats it, simple tap steps.
Appsync will allow you to sync the hacked apps through itunes, otherwise it will give out invalid application signature error.
For downloading from PC and syncing your apps with iTunes use www.appulo.us
Appulous is a free iTunes App Store in short created by people by sharing their applications from all over the world.
Troubleshooting
If you experience any problems during the installation or application installation steps, you may try this checklist.
- Perform update on all cydia related packages. It will ask you to update first, do not skip it and update.
- Do not forget to restart your phone
- Install a free application from app store like "facebook" before installing applications from installous
- First select download, wait for it to finish (100% complete) then tap "Downloads" section and install. If you do not see your app in that directory, then it is not complete yet. Double tapping on download may corrupt your downloaded file.
- Make sure the file you are downloading works fine. Sometimes cracked apps may fail, so try another application or package to make sure everything works fine before searching for help.
- If you encounter problems during application installation like package or executable not found etc make sure the following packages exists in your cydia, if not install them or re-install them to make sure everything is solid and packages are not corrupt. Installouse is dependent on these sub package libraries.

- Darwin CC Tools
- UUID Generator
- unzip
- gawk
- Curl (not sure if it was listed on packages but installous dependent)

One day a developer named puy0 started work on a project called Installous 1.0, he was a part of Hackulous and was releasing it with support from Hackulous. This 1.0 version did nothing but install .ipa's you'd placed in its folder. And then before we know it along comes version 2.0, it allowed downloading from Appulous and then installing it directly on your device.

BETA2 was even more amazing, in the apps that you came to, people could make "plugins" that added little buttons to search for that app on other sites or in some cases go directly to it!

Help ! I’m running 3.0 OS jailbroken on my iPod Touch 2G. Installous works fine and downloads the apps but when it finishes downloading and installing the new app icon doesn’t appear in my home screen. Sometimes the icon appears few minutes later or sometimes a day later. Then, when I try to open the app it instantly crashes and returns to the home screen. Does anyone knows anything about this and how to fix it ?

I have tried to install installous since last month, but every time I tried to install anything from source hackulo.us I will be kick out from cydia. Can you help me with this. BTW, I just upgrade iphone firmware to 3.0.

Hi all, So I’ve jb’ed. then installed installous through icy. and appsync 3.0 . everything is up to date. I can download ipas and sync them to my phone but I cannot install them directly off appulous from installous. I get an error half way through installing then, when I exit installous, ALL of my apps are gone except the 10 or so apple ones. It’s a pisser because I have to restore my phone to get the other apps back. then it happens all over again. any one else with this problem? I would appreciate some help because I hate wasting and a few hours every time I want to try out an app. I think it has to do with the installous itself because If I download on my computer and use appsync then the program works fine. any thoughts anyone?

I have installous on my 3Gs, I found the app i wanted, Navigon, when I tap it, it stayed highlighted for an hour, nothing happened. It also takes a period of time to download the main screen for installous. How do I go about getting the Navigon app again. I have it in my ITunes lib however, when i goto sync it, it says there was an error that ocurred in downloading from lib. Any advice on what I’m doing wrong?
I had to re-jailbreak my phone, Navigon is the app I got from installous before. It seems like neither are working at the moment. Please help, I’m a probie at this. Thanks. MK

Hi:
I installed Installous and AppSync 3.1 last night. Everything was working great! This morning I try to jump back on Installous, and I CANNOT gain a connection to the server. The Installous “Browse” screen never appears. I can view my ‘DownLoads’ and ‘Settings’ Screen just fine. But, I CANNOT search or browse for new Apps. It’s like everything I had access to yesterday, is a figment of my imagination today.
Have I been kicked out or rejected in some way? Did I break some cardinal behavior rule while I was downloading Apps last night?
You guys out there are the pros, I’mma newbie at this stuff. Any help someone out there can provide will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

First I was facing Installous crash when trying to install any ipa i’ve downloaded. After applying the steps you told here at this topic, Installous doesn’t crash anymorek, BUT after decompressing the file during ipa installation I am receiving this error message:

hackulo.us which is the source for installous is suspended because of the copyright issues and I think there is nothing we can do.

By mistake I have uninstalled blackra1n before installing Cydia to my iphone. How do I install now Cydia without blackra1n? If I install blackra1n again will it create any problem to my jailbroken and unlocked iphone.

I have just setup my iPhone with a fresh restore and got jailbroked.
Now I follow the above mentioned steps to complete installing installous.
I got stucked, After installing the AppSync 3.1 then when I try installing the Installous from the Cydia, i dont get to install as it says “The requested modifications cannot be applied due to required dependencies”…
Is there anyway to install all the requested dependencies with one install?
Which source should I add on Cydia?

i installed everything required, and have multiple apps from the app store, but whenever i try to download a cracked app its incredibly slow and the “download ticket” times out or something. my KB/s rate is always around 6, sometimes goes down to 2 or 3, other times goes up to 10 or 12

but i’ve managed to make the fone work again

Hi. The first time I could add source, and manage to install installous all that but downloading was slow and never complete. So i uninstall everything and deleted the source. Now i tried to add back the cydia.hackulo.us source but it doesn’t get true. It says invalid respository. Pls help!

I have an unlocked 3g iphone with the 3.0 software. Because it lacks the ability to record video that’s why I went Cydia and tried to download the “Cycorder” app. which enable my iphone with the capability to record video. However, when I tapped on the ‘confirm’ tab to download the app. and a message saying “size mismatch” popped up. As a result, I could not be able to download anything from Cydia. Why is that? That probably has to do with the app itself (not being cracked right). I doubt it has anything to do with this process. Have you tried other Apps?

I have just jailbroken my phone with blackra1n. I have Cydia and Rock installed. I just did all this yesterday so I should have the latest versions of everything. Cydia is giving me problems.
Upon trying add source http://cydia.hackulo.com or http://cydia.install0us.com, I get the following error:

i’ve successfully installed Installous and app sync 3.0 via cydia. My firmaware is 3.1.2 with 32GB 3GS iphone. I’ve upload tomtom apps on my itune and after synced, i couldn’t see my apps on my iphone. didnt get any error when installing or uploading. how could i make this work? please help
